Ford Does the Business with New Mondeo

Ford is well aware of the popularity of the Mondeo among fleet managers. A model that provides a smart business solution during the week and a comfortable family car at the weekend, it has long been a common choice for business users.

It makes sense, then, for the automaker to release a version tailored to the needs of the fleet market. Enter the Mondeo Econetic Zetec Business Edition. With the emphasis on low running costs and comfort, the Business Edition sports a 1.6-litre TDCi diesel engine built at Dagenham and a well-constructed, cosy interior that proves comfortable even after several hours in the driving seat.

The new Ford Mondeo returns just 114g/km of CO2, meaning road tax is exceptionally low, while a combined fuel consumption of 65.7mpg means long journeys don’t have to be punctuated by so many fuel stops. For those who are concerned that all that economy might come at the expense of performance, fear not. The Business Edition handles beautifully, stays poised and soaks up bumpy surface conditions whether you’re on a winding country road or the motorway. The steering is perhaps a touch light, but it’s a minor complaint in an otherwise enjoyable drive.

Even the equipment is designed to cater to business users. The exterior is smartened up with chrome trims, 17-inch alloys and LED daytime running lights, while upgraded sat-nav, cruise control and privacy glass are also available.
